"The Swimmers" tells the incredible true story of the Syrian sisters Yusra and Sarah Mardini. For this project, our objective was to promote the film and raise awareness about refugees, while portraying their experiences.
We tried to set an example in inclusive communication, and took a multilingual approach. The main artwork for the show was thoughtfully adapted in both Syrian Arabic and German, ensuring inclusivity for the Arabic-speaking community. Syrian Arabic was primarily utilized in our out-of-home advertising materials to engage with the audience effectively.
This campaign made a significant impact within the Netflix universe, particularly in terms of its focus on inclusivity and its contribution to raising awareness about the refugee cause. Our campaign came to life through a screening event that doubled as a fundraiser for UNHCR, the refugee organization.
